Overview
- Most of us agree that we as individuals do not have the right to aggress against others.
- Why then would associations of these individuals in the form of groups, corporations and governments be any different? The Legal Principle requires that no-one aggress, even via using these entities as tools.
- All special legal privileges and immunities for governments, corporations and all employees and officers of these organisations should be abolished. There is no reason why such people should be shielded from liability when they violate the Legal Principle either criminally or civility.
- We can expect professionals to voluntarily take out liability insurance to protect themselves.
- We must stop treating the government as our father, able to tell us what to do, but instead as a brother, with equal rights as us.
We cannot delegate rights we do not have
- If no individual has a legal right to aggress, nor can they delegate a right they do not have to any group, corporation or government!
- If all the thieves get together, hold a fairly conducted democratic vote and delegate the thievery to an elected group, does that elected group now have the right to steal? The answer is obviously ‘no’, even if the thieves were in the majority and wanted to thieve for worthy goals.
- A group, corporation, or government cannot acquire rights others than from its members that have those right to delegate. By overriding this, all democratic nations today violate the Legal Principle.
We can delegate rights we do have
- All individuals have the right to self-defense against aggressors.
- Therefore anyone can delegate this right to self-defense to an agent to act appropriately on their behalf, such as a security company, police force or even a government.
